Description of the situation:
Gifton comes from a polygamous family where the father has two wives. In their house Gifton is the last born at the moment. He has two older siblings - Chelsea (born 2005) and Ursla (born 2008). The father is a fisherman and the mother sells fish. The five-member family is living in a three-room mud house which belongs to them. They use firewood and characoal for cooking, kerosene lamp for lighting and they get water from the lake. The second wife is living in a separate house with five children and the father is the only one paying their school fees. The averege monthly net income of Gifton's family (Kshs. 1500) is very little to provide the basic needs in life to the family. Gifton likes playing with his friends - he likes foodball and hide-and-seek. at home he is helping with animals. He loves to eat sweets, fish and mangos. He is in a good state of health. In January 2017 he joined a nursery in Community Center Island of Hope.
