Description of the situation:
Kevin comes from a polygamous family where his mother is the second wife of the father. However the other wife of the father died leaving the children with Kevin’s mother to feed and take care of. Kevin also has two siblings - Rooney Okoth Ogolla (born 2010) and Junior Otieno Ogolla (born 2014). The father is a carpenter while the mother is a house wife. The average monthly income the father gets is around Kshs. 1800 which is very little to provide all the basic needs in life to the family. There are nine dependents living from this income. The family lives in a one-room mud house which belongs to them. They get water from the lake, use firewood for cooking, and kerosene lamp and small solar panel for lighting. Kevin is doing fine health wise at present. In 2017 he would like to join a nursery in Community Center Island of Hope.
