Description of the situation: Benson lives with his grandmother after his parents died (mother in 2003, father in 2005) and his grandma is the only one who could take responsibility of the child. Benson has 3 siblings, they all live together. The grandmother earns an income of 5000/ which she uses to cater for the basic needs of the family. They live in a rental house,5 dependants in 2 rooms, they use firewood for cooking, kerosene lamp and fetch water from the tap. The boy likes reading story books and attending church. He likes playing football and playing games at school. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up. In 2018 he should attend the 1st class of high school.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
