Description of the situation: Mavin is the last born in the family of two children. He has an older brother Michael Odhiambo (born in 1996). The father do casual work and the mother is a cook. The income of the family is very little, aroung 4000 KES (30 EUR), which is not enought to feed and also pay school requirements to the children. The family lives in a two roomed mud house, which belongs to them. They get water from the lake, uses Kerosene lamp for lighting and Firewood/Charcoal for cooking. Mavin is doing well at present except the occasional malaria. In 2018 he would like to join a nursery in Community Center Island of Hope. Adoption of this child is 2400 CZK/100 Eur per term.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children - “ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. The basic sponsoring fee amounts to 7200 CZK (300 EUR) a year.
