Thabiti has a twin Kasima (in the project he has a number 51830). Boys are orphans and they lives at their grandmother. She isn´t sure with the birthday of the brothers. They have other two siblings - Halim and Mohammed. They live in a rental house. There is cemented floor and iron sheet roof. There are 7 people in the house. The grandmother, her two own children and four grandchildren. All of them sleep on the matraces on the floor. They use charcoal and gas for cooking, kerosine for lighting and buy water. Thabiti has constatnt headache and eyesight problems, but does not recieve any medication.

Both the parents died leaving the children with their old grandmother who does nothing completely for her income. The family entirely depends on the hands of well-wishers, neighbors and relatives for their daily food. The family is doing well generally health wise at present They live in a two roomed mud house, they get water from the lake, use firewood for cooking and also kerosene/solarmal for lighting. Due to the family situation the child was placed in the orphanage "Island of Hope" on the Rusinga Island, where this child should find new home and start going to school. (Adoption of this child is increased by the amount of 16.800 CZK/660 EUR per year to cover the cost of the study, accommodation, food and governess in the orphanage.)

The boy is the first born, he has three siblings: Phoebe (b. 2005), Walter (b. 2006) and Ida (b. 2007). Ida is staying with the mother while the other two are staying with their grandma.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children - “ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. The basic sponsoring fee amounts to 7200 CZK (300 EUR) a year.

You can also provide the adoptive children by health insurance, that covers any medical treatment the child needs during 1 year.

Adoption Friend Club forms an integral part of this project, and enables to support education of Kenyan children by one-time contribution anytime during the year.
