Description of the situation: George was born on 15/03/2012. He comes from a polygamous family where his mother is the last wife of the father out of three women/wives. In their house George is the last born out of four children. His siblings are Eugine, Mitchel and Lewis. The father is a fisherman while the mother is a fishmonger. The income the family gets – 3,000 KES (approximately 28 EUR) per month, is little to take the children to school and also to provide other basic needs in life to the family. The family of six dependants lives in a single roomed mud house. They use firewood for cooking, kerosene for lighting and get water from the lake. George is a healthy boy. The child will join Island of Hope nursery in Rusinga Island from January 2016.
