Description of the situation:
Ian has a sister Annet. The father died 5 years ago and mother was left alone with her children whom she is taking care of. After the death of her husband she was chased away from their home and she had to rent a house in another village where they stay now. Ian goes to school which is 4 kms from their rental house. He is forced to come back home for lunch and then go back to school. The mother is doing casual work in the village in order to cater for her children basic needs on daily basis. The entire family depends on this little income (1,000 ksh per month – about 10 EUR) which makes it difficult to pay school fees for children. The family (which has 4 members altogether) lives in rental 2-roomed mud house. They take water from the river, use fire woof for cooking and lamp for lighting. Ian is in good health. In 2019, Ian will join second class of primary school. Adoption of this child costs 7,200 CZK/300 EUR per year.
