Description of the situation: Maria Kithy is the last born out of four children (Chepy 18 y.o., Emmy 16 y.o., and Dency 14 y.o.), she is currently 3 years old. Her father does fishing on other peoples nets while the mother is a receptionist in a hospital. The income the family gets is very little to pay for school and also provide other basic needs in life to the family (9000 ksh per month – about 90 EUR). Maria had a blockage of intestine when she was born and this forced the parents to take her for surgery and sometimes she feels a lot of pain in the place where she was operated. Also the eldest daughter in the family is suffering from sickle cell anemia. Family lives in their own mud house with two rooms. They cook on wood or charcoal, use water from the lake and for lighting they use kerosene lamp. Maria likes playing with dolls and she also likes to jump. In 2021 she is attending kindergarten. Adoption of this child costs 7.200 CZK/ 300 EUR per year.
