Description of the situation: Ann Carol was born in 2018 as the second born in a family of two children, she has a sibling named Ezel (born 2011). Their original home is at Siaya County, Oyoma, but they are currently living at Rusinga Island where the father does the fishing. The mother buys and sells fish in the locality so that they can together be able to support their kids and earn a living. Net family income is about 3.000 Ksh (30 EUR) per month which is unfortunately not sufficient for all family needs and school fees. The family lives together with Ann’s two cousins bringing the total number of the single-roomed house occupants to six. They use electricity for lighting, get water from the lake and use firewood/ charcoal for cooking. Ann is healthy and she really likes playing with balls and ball-throwing. She also enjoys playing missing games. In 2022 she is attending kindergarten. Her adoption costs 2.400 CZK/ 100 EUR per school term.
