Description of the situation:
Nicholas was born in 2018 and has three siblings. His older siblings are Evaline (2011) and John (2017). His younger sibling Kela is one years old (2021). Their father is a fisherman, and their mother sells Mandazi to provide for the children’s needs. The family’s net income is 1,000 KSH (10 EUR) per month. This family lives in a mud house that has four rooms. They use firewood and charcoal for cooking and get their water from the lake. For lighting around the home, they use solar powered lights. Nicholas suffers from some chest problems, but otherwise he and his family are healthy. Some of his hobbies are bike riding, playing football and soccer. Nicholas’s family hopes that he will join the Island of Hope’s nursary in the 2023. He needs support of 2.400 CZK/ 100 EUR per school term (7.200 CZK/ 300 EUR per year).
