State: Kenya
Mother: Naomi Anyango, birth 1987, Sells fish
Description of the situation: Vincent lives with his mother and siblings (Caivin 14 years, Phina, 10, Mercy, 16 and Ramsey - 2 weeks). The father who was the only family breadwinner died leaving the mother who does fishing to feed and also take the children to school. However much she is trying, she still cannot manage because the income she gets is very little to feed, take children to school and also provide other basic needs in life to the family. Family´s average is 3000 KES per month – about 30 EUR. The family (which has 6 members altogether) lives in rental 1-roomed mud house in a fishing beach. They get water from the lake, uses firewood for cooking and kerosene lamp for lighting. Vincent is doing health wise well at the moment, except for occasional malaria, his sister Mercy is anemic. In 2020 Vincent should start to attend kindergarten, he likes playing football. Due to the little income that is family earning, it is hard to meet basic family needs and paying school fees has become a big problem. That is why we decided to put the boy into our program. Vincent needs support of 2,400 CZK/100 EUR per term.
