Description of the situation: Lavenda was born in 2003, she comes from a large family of 8 siblings. The father died leaving mother to take care of the children. The mother works as a cook in a secondary school but the income she gets is very little to pay school fees to the children and also to buy food for the family. They live in a semi permanent house which has four rooms, they use lantern lamp for lighting and get water from the tap. Lavenda is doing well healthwise, except she occasional malaria. Lavenda likes singing and playing netball during her free time. In school she likes Science, English and Social Studies. She would like to be a nurse at the end of her studies. She is studying lastfourth grade at high school in 2023. Her adoption costs 5.600 CZK /220 EUR per term. She has lost her sponsor now.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
