Description of the situation: Whitney Matilani was born on 31st January 2006 in Emakale village Vihiga County, she is schooling at Kilingili Primary School and in class three. She is an orphan. Her grandmother Doricas Likhuyachi who was born in 1960 and house wife is the one who stays with her. She has got other 8 dependants and their income is 3,000 per month. They stal in semi permanent house owned by her grand mother. They use fire wood for cooking, lighting for kerosene lamp stream water for drinking, cooking and washing. She is in good health. Whitney needs 5,600 CZK/220 EUR for school fees for one school term.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
