Child number: 52200
Boy, 18 years
Not adopted
Child from Island of Hope
City, quarter: Kisumu Kamayoge
State: Kenya
Mother: Emelda Aoko, birth 1986, housewife
Father: Albert Okoth, birth 1984, fisherman
Description of the situation: The father works as a fisherman, while the mother takes care of the household. The family has four children and lives in very modest conditions. Their home is a small two-room house where they cook over an open fire, fetch water from the lake, and rely on a kerosene lamp for light after dark. Despite their difficult circumstances, the parents are committed to their children's education and believe that schooling can open the door to a better future. Since January 2026, the child has been attending Island of Hope Humanist Mixed Boarding School. To cover school fees, boarding, and basic living expenses, monthly support of CZK 1,500 (EUR 62.50) is needed. Your contribution can help the child continue their education and provide them with the opportunity for a brighter and more dignified future.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3 500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 8,400 (€ 360) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 18,000 (€ 750). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
