Description of the situation: Vivian is the last born in the family of eight children. Both her parents died and because there was nobody to take care of the children they were divided amongst their relatives. Four siblings (Rose Achieng, Erick Omondi, Maurine Adhiambo, James Opiyo) are already married. The others (Victor Otieno, Veronica Atieno, and Ephy Auma) stays with their relatives like uncles and aunts but the situation of these relatives are not stable. They go to school but sometimes being sent home due to lack of school requirements. Vivian was taken by their old grandmother who buys and sells fish, she earns average only 600 KES per month (5 Eur). The old grandmother stay in a village near fishing beach where is a problem with prostitution and other immoralities. Apart from Vivian, the grandmother also takes care of other two children who also comes from a poor family. The family lives in a two roomed mud house which is rental, they get water from the lake, uses firewood for cooking and kerosene lamp for lighting. Vivian is doing well except of the occasional malaria, while the grandmother has chest problem. Due to the family situation the child was placed in the orphanage "Island of Hope" on the Rusinga Island. In 2023 she started 8 class of primary school and therefore she needs an adoptive parent who would support her with 16.800 CZK/660 EUR per year to cover the cost of the study, accommodation, food and governess in the orphanage.
