Description of the situation: Cheril comes from a polygamous family of four wives where her mother is the first wife of the father. She has four older siblings: Jackline Achieng (1988) , Kevin Ochieng (1989), David Otieno (1990), Brenda Adhiambo (1990) and two younger siblings: Diana Anyango (2002), Samson Okinyi (2004). The father does fishing while the mother is a house wife and sickling even now she is admitted in the hospital. It’s the mother’s work now to look for food and also pay school fees to the children because the father has neglected the family and that’s why most of the children have dropped out of school. Cheril is Asthmatic while her mother and Brenda is having chest problem. The family have only around 2300 KES/month. They live in a four room’s mud house that belongs to them. They use Firewood for cooking, Kerosene lamp for lighting and they get water from a lake. Cheril likes reading novels and making friends, she likes doing History and Kiswahili and she would like to be a teacher when she finished her education. In 2023 she study at Ugenya Techbical and Vocational College. She needs support of 5600 CZK/220 EUR per term.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
