Description of the situation: Frankline is the first born in the family of three children (siblings Brian born 2016 and Irine born 2012), Both the parents died leaving the children with no one to feed and also to provide for other family basic needs in life to the family. The kids were divided amongst the relatives and Frankline was taken by his aunt Florence who is selling fish, her income is low (5,100 KES per month – about 51 Eur). The family has eight members now and lives in a one roomed semi-permanent house which is rental. They take water from the lake and cook on fire (using charcoal). They use koresene lamp for lighting. Frankline is doing well at the moment except of the occasional fever. In 2019 he will be in class 5 in primary school. He likes English, social Studies and mathematics. He also likes football, netball and reading story books. He will join an orphanage in our community centre Island of Hope since January 2019. Adoption of this child costs 16,800 CZK/660 EUR per year (the amount covers school fees, accommodation, food and governess in an orphanage as well).

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
