Description of the situation: Nancy comes from a big family, she has in total 6 siblings, some of them are also part of adoption program (Godfrey 9 years old – ID 52889, Emily 15 years old – 52888, Maurine 19 years old – 50918, Eunice 23 years old – 51611). The father who was the only family breadwinner died leaving the mother who is a house wife to feed, pay school fees and also provides other basic needs to the family. Net family income is about 2000 ksh/ a month (20 euro). The family lives in a two roomed mud house, where the kids sleep in one room on the floor and the mother with the younger one sleeps in another room. They use firewood for cooking and kerosene for lighting. Nancy loves reading, playing football and skipping, in school she likes Mathematics, Kiswahili and once she grows up she would like to be a pilot. She is healthy, but she is asthmatic. In 2024 she is in the eight grade. Adoption of Nancy costs 7.200 CZK/ 300 EUR per year.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
