Description of the situation: Emelda is the last born in the family of two children at present (Harvey 8 y.o.), she is 4 years old. Her father does fishing while the mother is a housewife. Apart from Emelda the brother and the mother, the father also feeds and takes care of his mother who is a widow. The income he gets from fishing is very little, net income is 3000 ksh/ a month (30 euro).They live in an own two roomed mud house. The family gets water from the lake, uses firewood/ charcoal for cooking and solar and kerosene lamps for lighting. The mother has chest problems while the other family members are in good health. Emelda really likes netball, playing with the ball and skipping. In 2021 she is attending kindergarten. Her adoption costs 7.200 CZK/ 300 EUR per year.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
