Description of the situation: Euphirincia Joy is the last born in the family of six children (Goretty 17 y.o., Pius 16 y.o., Calvin 11 y.o., Michel 8 y.o., and Winstone 5 y.o.), she is 3 years old. Her mother does fish business but the income she gets is little to feed and provide the basic needs in life to the family (1000 ksh per month – about 10 EUR), the father left the family. Family lives in a rental mud house with one room. They cook on wood or charcoal, use water from the lake and for lighting they use kerosene lamp. Joy is doing well health wise at present, she really likes singing. In 2024 she supposed to start 1grade at Island of Hope Humanist school. Adoption of this child costs 7.200 CZK/ 300 EUR per year.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
