Description of the situation: Qeen Esther is the second last born in the family of five children, the mother is a housewife while the father does fishing. Apart from Queen and the siblings,they also live with two children who are total orphans, the income the family gets is little to provide for the basic needs in life (2500 ksh per month – about 25 Eur). Family lives in a Semi-permanent house with two rooms which belongs to the family. They cook on wood or charcoal, use water from the lake and for lighting they use kerosene lamp or solar energy. Qeen is doing well at the moment except of the occasional malaria. She likes swimming and drawing.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
