Description of the situation: Stanley was born in 2008 and he is the first born in the family of three children (sister Belinder and Joyline), his father who was the only family breadwinner died three years ago leaving the mother alone with the children. The mother is a shop attendant but it is very difficult for her to feed, pay school fees and also provide other basic needs in life to her children as net family income is about 4.200 Ksh a month (42 EUR). The family lives in a one roomed mud house where they pay rent, they use electricity for lighting, get water from the tap and use kerosene for cooking. Stanley is doing well except sometimes he has a problem with his eye. Stanley really likes playing football, reading and riding. In school he likes Kiswahili and Science. In the future he would like to be a doctor. In 2025, he will enter his 2nd year of secondary school. Adoption of Stanley costs 5.600 CZK/ 220 EUR per school term (the amount covers school fees, accommodation, food and governess in an orphanage as well).

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
