Mother: Beatrice Adhiambo, birth 1988, sells vegetable
Father: Denis Achola Okwe, birth 1976, fisherman
Description of the situation: Clara was born in 2015 and she is the last born in the family of five children. She has siblings Bryan, Emaculate, Catherine and Fancy. Their father does fishing while the mother sells food along the road. The income the family gets is little to feed and also provide other basic needs in life, it is about 6.200 Ksh (62 EUR) a month. The family lives in a three roomed mud house, which belongs to the family. They use solar for lighting, get water from the lake and also use firewood/ charcoal for cooking. Clara is healthy and she really likes football. She also likes drawing and Mathematics. Due to the low income that the family earns it is hard to meet basic needs and also to pay school fees. That is why we decided to put the girl into our program so that she can go to school. In 2021 she is attending kindergarten. Her adoption costs 2.400 CZK/ 100 EUR per school term.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
