City, quarter: Rusinga West Lianda
State: Kenya
Mother: Loice Awino Omollo, birth 1986, sick
Description of the situation: Daniel was born in 2008 and has three siblings. The oldest is Jacob (2006), then Oliviah (2008) and Ginnell (2014). Their father passed so their mother is left to provide for all the children. Unfortunately, their mother is very ill and bedridden with sickling, which leads the children to go out to fish for food and provide for themselves. This family of five live in a one room mud house. For cooking the family uses firewood and receives their water from the lake nearby. While for lighting they use kerosene lamps. Some of Daniel’s hobbies include reading and playing football. Academically, her enjoys mathematics and English and hopes of becoming an engineer one day. The Island of Hope orphanage saw the condition this family was in and decided to take in Daniel and Oliviah so they can at least attend school. In 2022, Daniel will be starting class 6 at the Island of Hope Humanist School. His adoption costs 5.600 CZK/ 220 EUR per school term (16.800 CZK/ 660 EUR per year). Will you help the Island of Hope’s orphanage continue to provide a safe place for Daniel to live and earn an education?
