Description of the situation: Alex is the fourth born in the family of five children. His siblings are Bethy Vena (born 2004), Felix Odhiambo (2006), Christine Achieng (2014), Jefton Oluoch (2017). After the death of the mother who was the only family breadwinner, father who is now doing peasant farming became irresponsible and does not want the children. Therefore Christine, Alex and BethyVena were taken by their aunt who also have her own children to provide. The income of the aunt is little to feed, pay fees and other things for the family. Twelwe people live in a five roomed mud house which belongs to the family. They use firewood/charcoal for cooking, kerosene for lighting and they get water from lake. Alex likes playing football. In school he likes Mathematics and sciences, he would like to be a doctor after school. Due to bad family situation he was admited to orphanage in Community center Island of Hope and in 2026 he should start attending class 8 at Island of Hope Humanist School. He needs support of 1500 CZK/62,50 EUR/ month (18.000 CZK/750 EUR/year).

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3 500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 8,400 (€ 360) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 18,000 (€ 750). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.

You can also provide the adoptive children by health insurance, that covers any medical treatment the child needs during 1 year.
