Description of the situation: Florence is the first born in the family out of seven children. Her sibllings are Edwin Otieno (born 2011), Jackline Achieng (2015), Joel Obure (2018), Sahnia Phanice (2019), John Odhiambo(2021), Zuel Joy (2025). Parents separated and the mother left the children with father who does fishing and sickling at the same time. The income the father gets from fishing is meagre to support and provide the family with basic needs. This is why Florence was taken by her aunt who is a saloonist and also have her own children. Her income is also meagre to pay fees, buy food and provide other basic needs. Ten people live in a two roomed mud house which belongs to the family. They use firewood/charcoal for cooking, kerosene for lighting and they get water from river. Florence likes netball. In school she likes CRE and Agriculture, she would like to be a nurse after school. In 2026 she should be in form3 at Island of Hope Mixed secondary boarding school (end of secondary 2027). She needs support of 1500 CZK/62,50 EUR/month (18.000 CZK/750 EUR/year).

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3 500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 8,400 (€ 360) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 18,000 (€ 750). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.

You can also provide the adoptive children by health insurance, that covers any medical treatment the child needs during 1 year.
