We are pleased to invite you to our traveling exhibition of documentary photographs which is held by The Youth Information Centre in cooperation with The Civic Association Centre Narovinu. The aim of this exhibition is to inform general public about the situation in Africa and the projects carried out by Centre Narovinu. The photos presented during these exhibitions were taken by Centre Narovinu volunteers during their visits to the region. They depict various development projects as well as day-to-day life at the poorest villages and slums.

The exhibition can be visited from February 4 until March 15 on the premises of DDM HMP (entrance area and lobby) weekdays between 8am and 10pm. Free of charge.

Our coordinator, Ilona Musilova, captured what is typical of Kenya – its children and fauna. The opening will take place on Friday, February 6, at 5pm, in the aula of Řečkovice and Mokrá Hora townhall. The exhibition will remain open until Sunday, February 15, weekdays from 2pm till 5pm, weekends between 9am and 12pm and 2pm and 5pm.

Dear adoptive parents, friends and supporters of Centre Narovinu,

We would like to invite you for 2 pre-Christmas meetings with Eunice - a Kenyan girl, who has flown in to spend Christmas with her adoptive parents.

Come to meet Eunice and to find out how does the project of remote adoptions work. What is her experience and how has the program of adoptions helped her? You will have the opportunity to ask many more questions personally.

During the meeting you will have the opportunity to taste freshly roasted Kenyan coffee, that has just arrived from Kenya. And of course that our gift certificates “Pass it on!” will be also available for purchase.

Acclaimed sculptor Lovemore Bonjisi, nicknamed “the African Michelangelo”, comes from the renowned Bonjisi dynasty of stone-sculptors. He visited the Czech Republic  in 2007 and could be watched at work in Prague Botanical Garden. On this occasion, he donated the sculpture to Centrum Narovinu.

Are you interested in meeting new people and cultures and give something from your skills and free time for something reasonable?

Are you interested in joining the projects of developing cooperation and education focused of Africa?

The seminars allow the participants to get to know all necessary about problems and work in projects of developing cooperation, stress on permanent sustainability and active approach at work with local communities, sensitive attitude to cultural differences, respect to heterogeneity. They will get to know work of coordinator of the project „Adoption of African children“, developing awareness and education at Czech schools as well as community centre „Island of Hope“ on Rusinga Island in Kenya.

The 19th annual international art competition „Drawing Online: Children Protect the Earth“ held by Czech Radio – Radio Junior.

Over 3,000 pictures from many countries (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Bulgaria, France, Belorussia, Russia, Ukraine) as well as pictures of children from the Kenyan projects of Center Narovinu. From 12 p. m. - African themed workshops of Center Narovinu (trying on African clothes, carrying things on your head, painting African pictures and masks etc.) and a fair trade shop. The vernissage starting at 3 p.m. will be hosted by Zora Jandová.

The sale of pictures from last years in form of beneficial auction from 12 p.m. to 4. p.m.  This year's winning exhibits available for booking during the vernissage and ready for pickup at the end of exhibition in July. Proceeds of the auction will be used to develop the community center Island of Hope on Rusinga Island. Buy a picture and support children from Kenya whose living conditions are very hard.

The exhibition halls of RIM – CZ, a manufacturer of office chairs from Otrokovice, are going to host a presentation of a new collection of photopraphs taken by volunteers from Centrum Narovinu during their journeys to Kenya.

The collection of twenty-five photos shows development projects and life in the poorest rural areas and villages in Kenya.

You can also enjoy shopping in our little Fair Trade shop selling handmade African products like bracelets, beads, handmade statuattes and other items of Africa origin.

The opening ceremony with a talk and projection will be held on Tuesday May 5 at 1 p. m.

The exhibition will be opened from May 6 to June 30  on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Our programme for children about Africa will start on May 30 at 3.30 p.m.

Specialists in development aid from Centrum Narovinu will tell children lots of interesting things about the black continent, show them photographs and videos and get them involved in various thematic workshops.

Children will also have a chance to learn about the projects of Island of Hope and I love Africa.

We are looking for volunteers and friends who would like to participate in creating a special development project - Island of Hope on Rusinga Island in Kenya, and help its future aiming for independence and sustainability. Island of hope is a a complex community centre (orphanage, nursery school, school, clinic and farm) which has been built by Centrum Narovinu for 11 years. However, there is still a long way to go and we need a lot of ethusiasm, creativity, new ideas and financial support. This is a chance for you to help a useful and meaningful thing, gain insight into this interesting subject and influence lives of hundreds of people living in one of the poorest places in the world.

Two consecutive evenings in Prague: Tuesday 3. of December and Wednesday 4. of December (5:30pm – 9:00pm).

The workshop, we would like to invite you to, enables you to find out everything about problems and work in development cooperation projects, about the stress on sustainable development and the active approach to work with local communities, the sensible approach to cultural differences and the respect to varieties.

It will let you know more about work of project coordinator of “African children adoption”, a development education project “Africa through uncommon eyes... not only in Czech schools” and community center at Rusinga Island in Kenya.

The Czech Radio - Radio Junior donated the winning works from its international competition and the fundraising event should be visited also by the patron of the project Zora Jandová.

The profit of this fundraising event will support children from the  community center Hope Island at Rusinga Island, specifically, we are looking for money to repair the dining hall which is in emergency conditions.

There will be workshops with African topics all afternoon, so don“t hesitate to bring your children with, they will enjoy the workshops and meanwhile, you can sit in the café and discuss projects and African experience with coordinators of the Center Narovinu and with "adoptive parents" who visited their adopted children in Africa.

The Center's president Dana Feminová returned from Kenya two weeks ago and she has a lot of experience and news to share with you.

The event will be moderated by actress Jitka Ježková, who is a supporter of the program African children adoptions - she has supported a boy named Collins in Kenya for several years to get the education.

The vernissage of the exhibition

Due to June floods, the entrance to parks was prohibited in Prague, including Kinsky Garden where the June exhibition should have taken place; therefore the vernissage was postponed to September, 25 2013 in Kinsky Folly in Prague.

Children from Kenya participated on the Czech Radio art competition “We are drawing over the network” already the eighth time. Come and see pictures from the whole world – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, India, Indonesia, USA and our partner schools in Kenya.

There will be rich program from 1pm; our organization prepared workshops with African topics. The opening ceremony of the exhibition starts at 3 pm. We sincerely invite you.

Zoo Jihlava invites you for the 7. meeting of travellers, photographers, zoologists and Africa lovers.

Except lectures on Saturday in Centre PodpoVRCH and in a clubroom of the zoo there will be a rich accompanying programme.

On Friday 7.9. from 18.00 in the Centre PodpoCRCH there will be shown a film Under Sun Darkness, the winner of 15th International Festival of Documentary Films in Jihlava, entrance without registration and free.

On Saturday 8.9 in African village Matongo from 18.30 stylish clothes and at 20.00 theatre Cylinder performs Fire on the Mounatin – 5 Ethiopian fables.

On Sunday 9.9. in the zoo there will be held presentations of African culture, interesting projects and shown films. There will be introduced for example Centre Narovinu, NaZemi, ShineBean, Arcidiecézní charita Praha, Life Africa, culture of Tuaregs, dancing performance Shela and Al Fayyum dancers, dancing workshop of Monika Rebcová and you can watch films Okuhepa Africa, Africa obscura, Bama and lost gorillas and Under Sun Darkness.
