In connection with this difficult situation, we decided to take several measures: At this time, we strongly DISCLAIM sending packages and letters by mail. * If you want to support your child in this difficult situation, you can send EXTRA PAYMENT for food, hygiene and medical devices. * Another way you can support the health of "your" children is HEALTH INSURANCE. * In connection with this situation, we also announce a COLLECTION for the Island of Hope Clinic on Rusinga Island.

Dear adoptive parents, dear supporters, and dear friends of Center Narovinu, Center Narovinu employees will work from home as a part of the anti-coronavirus measures. If you need to meet us in the Prague office, please contact us, and we will arrange a meeting in person.

We thank all the amazing people from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Kenya for their great support and help. To date, we have collected the necessary amount for Ruth. If we can also arrange support from Kenya's NHIF insurance and the Faraja Cancer Center, not only the entire treatment but also all the necessary expenses (stay in Nairobi all the time, travel expenses, food, etc.) will be reimbursed, which would otherwise burden the family. We will continuously communicate detailed information from the treatment as well as the drawing of finances.

You will certainly agree with me that the feeling of joy and pride is probably justified! My wife and I would like to thank you for the work that allowed us to help one African person to change his life fundamentally! Perhaps we can not quite well imagine how.

For example, soapstone elephant or hippo for luck. A gift made in Kenya by stonemasons Kisi and decorated by women from the Island of Hope will surely please everyone. Your money spent on it will support children from the Island of Hope where we return 100% of earnings.

It all started last Giving Tuesday, that is, November 27th 2018. I, a Serbian from South Africa, was part of the Student Council at my university and agreed to help set up an event for this relatively unknown NGO. They help women and children in Africa, which sounds very typical, but the reality was far from it. First of all, Africa is not a country and the founder of the NGO, Dana Feminová, does well to remind others that her project is based in Kenya.

Regina's parents are old, her mother sells water and earns about 3,000 Ksh per month (about 600 CZK) for rent and food. Regina's sister is mentally disabled, and Regina has foot problems and cannot walk properly, so she uses a wheelchair. Regina studies International Relations, a four-year bachelor program, at United States International University – Africa.

I’m really glad to help Hulda this way. I got the video with Hulda last week. We were all excited at home. It was nice to see her happy and that she appreciates education she gets. She’s really motivated and she knows that a good education means a better life for her and her family. When we watch this video, then it all makes sense to us.

We thank to adoptive parents for their feedbacks from their journeys to Kenya families… Personal meeting and introduction with supported children and his/her family worths and brings unforgettable experiences and a new dimension to mutual communication. ☺

In 2004, we began to consider the long distance adoption of a child in Africa. After searching for information on the Internet and meeting with Dana Feminova at the Center Narovinu in Prague, we adopted a girl from Kenya called Metrine Midesha, who was eight years old.15 years have passed, Metrine with our financial support completed primary and secondary school and furthermore she studied tourism management.

Na konci září jsem se vydala na moji již třetí cestu do Keni, a již podruhé jsem se rozhodla ji absolvovat sama. První část mé dovolené jsem se rozhodla strávit v Mombase, a to z toho důvodu, že jsem nechtěla, aby mne má Christine viděla vyčerpanou z mé práce, zkrátka jsem chtěla nabrat sil, opálit se na pláži a následně, poslední týdny s ní strávit na Rusinga Island.

Thanks to adoptive parents who have ordered short videos of their supported children, you can peek into the everyday life of families and make a better idea of what conditions children come from… This time we present the story of Huldy, who, with the support of the adoptive parent, completed the basic degree of education and is now studying in high school.

The car delivered lot of happiness to all people involved in project – it will help as medical car for urgent needs, for needs of farm and for shopping. It will take students to school events, sport games, competitions and conferences where students represent their school.

Dana Feminova is on another working trip in Kenya and  has a very busy schedule again: meetings with the Nairobi office and sponsors, stay at Rusing Island – the Island of Hope project: appointments with the project team, …

With the simple visit to Mfangano Island, last 2017, by the Cooperators and donors from Czech and Slovak Republics, created the idea of doing fish farming project in Island of Hope Community Centre on Rusinga Island. The project started last Jan. 26, 2018. Started the repairs and improvement of the existing 2 x 2 m fish cage and fabricated 6 units 6 x 6 m fish cages. Also improved the existing 2 ponds which was used initially to rear the future breeders of the Fish Hatchery.

Dear adoptive parents, dear supporters and friends of Centrum Narovinu, we deeply thank you that you were with us even during this year ☺ We supported together education, health care and standard of living of kids and whole families in Kenya – there study 1745 children in kinder-gardens, basic and high schools and at universities, there are over 500 children who find daily background at Island of Hope and we provided health care for 826 kids in terms of health assurance.

Thank you for your huge support, all pleasant meetings with you on our events and for your interest in gifts from fair-trade shop. We appreciate that a lot. We can again support community center Island of Hope on its way to independency… We would like to share with you several contributions, we thank you and we are looking forward to next common cooperation – eg. during Easters fairs ☺

Individuals, groups, families, organisations, classes or schools are involved in the project. We thank especially to one of the schools – basic school Volary – and we share received contribution. Get involved! You can be in touch with particular kid from Kenya already from January 2019 and follow his/her life and dreams.

Your donation will support particularly long term sustainability of community center Island of Hope which is visited by over than 500 children daily. Its part is kinder-garden, basic and boarding high school, orphanage, 24/7 health center, library with PC class and farm. There is a new fish farm at Victoria lake side too. The profit from the farm will financially support catering for children and operations of the center – health care, social and education services.
