Description of the situation:
Juliet’s father who was the family breadwinner died leaving the mother who is a house wife to feed and also provide other basic needs in life to the children. Juliet has 3 siblings – older Veronica and Malon, younger Evaline. Because the mother could not manage to take care of the children, they were divided amongst their relatives and that is why Juliet stay/lives with her Aunt who also have her own children and also lives with other children who are orphans. There are eight dependents in the house. The permanent house has three rooms, they get water from the lake, uses firewood and charcoal for cooking and kerosene for lighting. The family average monthly income is 10000 KES (80 Eur). That is now enought to provide the family with the basic needs and it is not enought to provide every school needs to the children. Juliet is doing well at present except of the occasional malaria.
Due to the family situation the child was placed in the orphanage "Island of Hope" on the Rusinga Island, where this child should find new home and start going to school. (Adoption of this child is increased by the amount of 16.800 CZK/660 EUR per year to cover the cost of the study, accommodation, food and governess in the orphanage.)
