Description of the situation: Bulgyt is the first born of three He has 2 brothers Restoration and Darine. The father who was the family breadwinner died leaving the mother who sells vegetables along the road to feed and also take the children to school. The income she gets is very little to provide for the family basic needs in life. The family average monthly income is 4530 KES (37 Eur).The family lives in a two roomed mud house. They both do well health wise. They get water from the well, use firewood for cooking and also kerosene for lighting. Due to the family situation the child was placed in the orphanage "Island of Hope" on the Rusinga Island, where this child should find new home and start going to school. (Adoption of this child is increased by the amount of 16.800 CZK/660 EUR per year to cover the cost of the study, accommodation, food and governess in the orphanage.) In 2023 the girl is attending third grade of secondary school.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
