Caleb was born on November 30, 1998. He lives with his father, his mother died in 2004. The father has re-married so Calb has three siblings and two step-siblings, His sister Levin is in the adoption programme, too (ID 50285). The father is a tailor and earns about 4,500 Ksh a month. All eight of them live in a one-room mud house which they own. They use firewood for cooking, kerosene lamps for lighting and get water from the lake.Caleb likes farming (planting vegetables) and reading books. He is healthy. The boy is in his third year at high school, so he has one more year to finish it (situation in 2017).

Catherene was born on 2nd October 1998. Her mother left her at grndmother more then 10 years ago. The mother dissapered when she was 15 from grandmother´s house and came back only to leave there the baby Catherene. In the house lives also the niece Ester (ID 51180). She also lost her mother the same way as Catherene. Nodoby knows where are the mothers and nobody knows who are the fathers of both girls. Grandmother with girls lives in their own mud house. There are 3 people in 3 rooms. They use firewood for cooking, kerosine for lighting and rain water.

Dennice likes playing tootball and he is good in this. He studying well, in final report in 2014 he had for exaple from Maths or English mark A.

Edwin was born on June 20, 1998 and have five siblings who are in school. They live in a rural area of Nyeri county where they moved from Nairobi because of the hardship they had to face there. They make a living by farming with the income of about 4,000 Ksh per month. They sell their products in the local market which is hard because other farmers do the same. The family live in their own three-room wooden house. They use firewood for cooking, kerosene lamp for lighting and get water from a river. Edwin is healthy. His brother Steven is in the adoption programme, too (ID 51794).

Her brother Brian lives with their grandmother in Limuru. They use charcoal for cooking, kerosene lamps and bore hole water and the income is not enough for the family's basic needs. Esther sometimes suffer from eye allergy and time to time she uses eye drops prescribed by the doctor to surpress the allergies. Recently the mother went to a knitting school and she got some basic skills that she can use to better her life and earn a living. Esther likes watching football and would like to be a business lady (knitting sweaters).

The father had three wives before he died. The mother who is the sole provider for this family has a small grocery store and this is done in the rural areas, which does'nt make a lot to meet all the needs of the family and sepecially keep the children in school. Omodi really likes playing football and skipping rope game.

They get water from the lake, but recetly mother has bought a tank for water so they will collect rain water. The father is a fisherman and the income depends on how much fish he catches each day. The mother works in a mill selling maize. Family income is not constant therefore it´s hard for them to keep the children in school. Jack is a member of church choir a he likes football. In final report in 2014 he had for example from Chemistry mark A- or from English mark B.

The family depends on the low income that the father earns as a casual worker/mason but it is not stable to sustain the family. Kennedy is in good health. He likes playing football, reading storybooks, making toys like bicycles and cars using wire. Kennedy would like to be an engineer after doing his university.

Nokris has five siblings. Fogan, Abi, Pamela , Steven and Ayub. He lived with his grandmother, who take care of him while the rest of the other children live with other relatives who are also not financially stable. Grandma was not able to provide enough money for basic needs and school fees. Therefore Nokris joined in 2009 the orphanage Island of Hope, so he needs a higher amount that include the cost of accommodation, food and governess in an orphanage.The gradnmother owns a three roomed house that has been made of mud walls. The income she gets from farming is very small, she is old and can only do very little to support the family.She struggles alot for her to keep the family together as she has three other children on her care.

The aunt is a widower she does small odd jobs in order to provide for the family. she has 1 sibling goretti she wa born in the year1991. the family's average monthly income is ksh. 1000. they live in a 2 roomed house belonging to the family. they use firewood for cooking, lamp for lighting and get their water from a well. Rizii has no known health complication.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children - “ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. The basic sponsoring fee amounts to 7200 CZK (300 EUR) a year.
