Description of the situation: Erastus is the third born in the family of four children (siblings Dorothy, Molvida and Elsa), he was born in 2013. His father does fishing while the mother is a housewife, net family income is about 4500 Ksh (45 EUR) a month. The family lives in a fishing centre in a two roomed mud house which they rent. They use candles for lighting, get water from the lake and also use firewood/ charcoal for cooking. Erastus is an albino, meaning he is a special case and his life is harder than that of other children. He is healthy except for occasional malaria. Erastus likes playing football, he also likes Mathematics and English. In 2021 he is attending the first grade of primary school. His adoption costs 2.400 CZK/ 100 EUR per school term.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
