Description of the situation: Lovisa was born in 2007 and has four siblings. Sheilla (2003), Deborah (2005), Alexander (2015), and Kerina (2022). Their father is a peasant farmer and their mother is a housewife. The family’s net income is 3,000 Ksh (30 EUR). The family of seven lives in a semi-permanent house with four rooms. For cooking they use firewood and receive their water from the lake nearby. For lighting they use electricity. Some of Lovisa hobbies include drawing and playing soccer and football. Academically, she enjoys her English and mathematics course and would like to become a doctor. In 2022, Lovisa will be starting class 6 at the Island of Hope Humanist School. The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
