Description of the situation: Felix is the last born in the family of two children, he was born in 2010, he has a brother Dorian. Both the parents died leaving them with no one to provide for the basic needs in life and that is why they were taken by their old grandparents. Apart from Felix and the brother, they also live with one of their cousin who is also a semi-orphan. The family is doing well except the grandmother who prepares meals for the family has difficulties in walking. Felix is doing well except the occasional malaria. The family gets water from the lake, uses firewood/charcoal for cooking and uses solar mall/kerosene for lighting. Due to the very difficult family situation the child was placed in the orphanage "Island of Hope" on the Rusinga Island, where this child should find new home and start going to school. In 2021 the boy is attending class 3 in primary school. Adoption of this child is increased by the amount of 5.600 CZK/220 EUR per term to cover the cost of the study, accommodation, food and governess in the orphanage.

The project of remote support „Adoptions of African children“ mediates an access to education for poor Kenyan children without pulling them out of their natural environment and community. This project has been running since 2002 and has helped more than 3500 children. School fees at primary school are CZK 7200 (€300) / year, and at secondary school, college and orphanage are CZK 16800 (€660). The payment can also be broken down into multiple instalments.
